I enjoyed the author’s insights into the theater and found his description of the experiment with treating psychotic families as inpatients fascinating. I gained a better understanding of how a British analyst of the Independent School thinks about theory and works with patients. Roger Kennedy is a Supervising and Training Analyst and President of the British Psychoanalytical Society. He is Consultant psychotherapist at the Family Unit, Cassell Hospital, Richmond, UK and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at Imperial College, London, UK. He is author of Psychoanalysis, History and Subjectivity.
